“Desheng custom miniature laser modules are compact and low-power, with high speckle contrast and strong stability. Perfectly matched to the Gemini 305 wrist camera at 0.1 mm @ 0.5 m near-range accuracy, they became a core optical component in the robot vision product line.”
OVERVIEW

Project Overview

AB is a leading 3D vision solutions provider. Its Gemini 305 stereo camera series is designed for robotic-arm wrists and places strict requirements on module size, power consumption, and accuracy.

01

Challenge

Wrist space is limited, so the module must be miniature and lightweight while projecting high-contrast patterns for precise 3D recognition in grasping, sorting, and welding tasks from 0.2 m to 1 m.

02

Solutions

In partnership with Desheng Laser, a miniature laser module was custom-developed with optimized size, weight, and power draw specifically for the Gemini 305 imaging system.

03

Results

  • Enabled a more compact, lightweight Gemini 305 camera design;
  • Near-range scanning accuracy of 0.1 mm @ 0.5 m met industrial assembly needs;
  • Desheng Laser became a core supplier for AB’s robot vision product line.
